I’ve been slowly upgrading my vanity corner and I always thought the mirror mattered the most, but now I’m starting to think lighting might actually be the real game changer. I’ve been using just a ceiling light in my room and it creates weird shadows on my face, especially when I try to do makeup in the evening. It makes everything feel inconsistent no matter how good my mirror is. I saw different vanity lighting setups like the ones here https://www.luminapro.co/collections/lights and now I’m wondering if switching to proper vanity lights actually fixes that “different lighting in every angle” problem or if it’s still something you have to adjust to. Has anyone upgraded their lighting and noticed a real difference in how their makeup turns out day to day?

I don’t really have a vanity setup myself, but I’ve noticed how much lighting affects even simple things like taking photos or just how a room feels. A lot of people underestimate it and focus on furniture first, but light changes perception more than almost anything else in a room. Even in regular interiors, switching from overhead lighting to softer side lighting can completely change the mood. I guess it makes sense that in makeup setups it would have an even bigger impact since you’re working with detail and precision.
